VR on Mobile Browser with cardboard is it possible ?

15 March 2018 21:20
Hi guys, I write to ask an help to achieve a simple VR scene on mobile browser iOS/android (at the moment just one simple Cube).

I've tried all way but unfortunately i cannot understand where i can start.

I've read the Documentation About VR, but it seems that this is more speific for Desktop Scenarios (Oculus, Vive etc etc). I've also tried to look in detail the Space Disaster demo on blend4Web website but this not working better on Android and on iOS not working at all (it remain stucked at 71% of loading).

Here what i've tried :

1. Simple Webplayer project with cube (on Dekstop i can see the VR button, on mobile no) :-(

2. Bulk Project (not Webplayer and not Json) with some parts of the VR snippet
(it works only on desktop).

So, i Kindly ask if there is someone that can drive me to the implementation of this simple scenario on mobile browser.

Hoping that someone can help me.

Regards

What are exact smartphones' models you testing? What are their screen resolution?

It would be very helpful to see log. Here is documentation for Android.

Hi Alexander, i've tested the Space Disaster Demo on:

iPhone 7 Plus - Resolution: 1920x1080 pixel 401 ppi. Result = Stucked at 71% Loading.
IPhone 7 - Resolution: 1334x750 pixel 326 ppi. Test Result = Stucked at 71% Loading.
IPhone 6 - Resolution 1334x-750-pixel resolution at 326 ppi Test Result = Stucked at 71% Loading.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Resolution: 1440 x 2560 pixels, 16:9 ratio (~577 ppi density) Test Result = works, but extremely slow FPS and Gyroscope react.

Thanks In advance for your support.

Best Regards.

Spacedisaster works on my Mac but it rests on 71% on my iPhone. Why does it happen, must I try to work in a new deploy/project?
Thanks.

Have you tried the version from blend4web.com (https://www.blend4web.com/en/demo/webvr_game/) or from SDK?
