Verizon Fios (Fiber Optic Service) is a popular Internet, telephone and television provider operating in the United States. The company features an amazing interactive 3D infographics of the International Space Station on Beacon, a technology news channel for Verizon customers.
This 3D web application perfectly highlights the multiple and huge benefits of using WebGL and Blend4Web over traditional static infographics. Three-dimensional space inherently allows to fit much more information while offering means to focus the viewer's attention on several levels of detail, from a broad overview to the fine structure. With 3D infographics it becomes possible to learn things quickly and clearly, especially with animation which also makes viewing even more captivating. With Blend4Web the content is delivered via browsers and thus has a billion-user reach of a global Internet audience whether they are browsing from desktop computers, tablets or smartphones.
Together, all this creates an unprecedented level of user engagement. Education, personnel training, mass communication, statistics, marketing - all these industries benefit from interactive 3D infographics powered by Blend4Web.
