You should link Geometry node Normal output to Normal input of the Layer Weight node.
For now normals are not picked up automatically in Cycles materials. We'll solve this issue soon

Konstantin, thanks for the great tip!

Fresnel effect not working with orthographic camera.

Thanks Mikhail.

You also can use Cycles Fresnel node for fresnel.

Is it possible to do this with transparency and an orthographic camera?

For those who are interested in Hologram and fresnel shaders, here is the the solution:

Is it possible to use Cycles Layer Weight, Transparency, Mix and Emission nodes with an Orthographic camera in B4W? The documentation says that it works with these Cycles nodes, but I can't seem to get it to work.

This node structure works in Cycles and creates a hologram like effect:

I've attached my blend file.

Thanks

Mikhail Luzyanin, thanks! That worked! I will try Cyles nodes too.

Will Welker, thanks for the example, I'll have a look.

Hi,

I'm new to Blend4Web and I can't render a Fresnel in the Browser, so I'm trying to emulate the Cycles Layer Weight or Fresnel node as described with Blender Internal here:

https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/47027/achieving-a-feathered-transparent-effect

In the viewport, the Fresnel always correctly faces the camera as it is using the View output from the Geometry node. But in both Firefox and Chrome the Fresnel always faces down the z axis.

The console in Firefox gives an error "…WebGL creation failed: * Error during ANGLE OpenGL init…" Chrome does not gives this error though, so I'm not sure if my graphics card is being blocked.

Have I missed something simple. Please help.

I've attached my blend file to this post.
