Material slot is empty.

Error: Incomplete mesh; Material slot is empty

This occurs on objects where the material is applied to the object.

Is there a requirement to attach the material to the data slot?

Currently working out how to get SketchUp models (with some textures) into Blender. Do some cleanup, and export to WebGL. My team is currently using Google SketchUp 8 on Windows; Blender 2.72b on Windows and Ubuntu 14.04 with the Blend4Web addon v14.10.

Collada from SU into Blender but will try with OBJ…

Hello gritchie!

Just delete those empty slots fot material - the engine tries to read "nothing", so the error occurs



Also I recommend to update to the latest version - every new version contains lots of improvements and bugfixes

Yep, this is required. Currently, linking materials to objects is not supported. Is it important setting for your pipeline?

Not any longer. We made a script for Blender that moves the data from the object to the material.

Looking forward to spending more time with B4W. Thanks guys!

I got the same error.
Despite the fact that I did as the instructions above still pops up the same error.
I'm using version Blender 2.76 on Windows with the Blend4Web addon v15.12.
