magenta texture

08 January 2015 18:19
I am attempting to apply some textures in cycles and they seem to be mapping properly to the model however when I export the model the texture is now a vibrant magenta.

does WebGL support cycles rendering?

if so, why the magenta?

I am unfamiliar with UV unwrapping and I want to try and avoid it but I will do it if I have to.

what are the necessary steps for exporting a model with "realistic" textures.

unfortunately I cannot post images of the project however I am simply trying to make textures related to the construction industry such as; OSB plywood, Brick, Mortar, Shingles, etc.

Thank you.

It is common error indicating color in 3D CG.

Sometimes you can avoid it by using Generated texture coordinates. This will suit many cases with repeating textures you mentioned (wood, brick…). Also, there is no need in UV mapping for matcap textures (metal, glass, plastic etc).

Good luck!
