Firfox crashes

25 February 2015 20:37
Blend4Web elements cause my Firefox 35.0.1 to crash on two machines, one running Xubuntu 14.04 64-bit (Linux) and the other Windows 8.1 64-bit.
I didn't keep count but I'd say this happens about once every four page loads on Linux. In Windows 8.1 it's quite rare.

The crashes happen both on the Blend4Web site (including this forum) and with my own simple creations. On refreshing the LuckeyProductions website FF crashed and generated this report.

Hi Frode, and welcome to this forum!

On Linux, you got "OpenGL: X.Org – Gallium 0.4 on AMD CEDAR – 3.0 Mesa 10.1.3". This is known behavior of buggy open source AMD drivers.
On Windows, try to install latest drivers and see what happens.

Also the answers to these questions can be helpful:

1. Do non-Blend4Web WebGL demos work for you?
2. Does Chrome browser work? On Linux, on Windows?
3. How does Windows FF crash report look like?

Ah ok. Good to know.

It's quite irregular. But I'll keep your suggestions in mind. Thanks.

The crash in windows was a while ago. Everything also works fine btw in a latest Xubuntu live session on the same machine that runs Windows 8.1.

Thanks for the report.
I think, crashes on Firefox are currently related to this bug which was recently fixed by Mozilla. I have tested nightly build version 41 and it performs stable.

Hi there,

I have tested Firefox 41.0.1 and 41.0.2 on two different machines and still get the memory leak (which is a real pity – wouldnt want to force my visitors into chrome…). Anything we can do about it?

Hi philippo and welcome to this forum.

Could you please provide more info about your system in this topic?

Thanks.
